Datterini gialli are Italian yellow date tomatoes that are characterized by the yellow color and the fruity and somewhat sweet taste. In the maturing process the tomato colors from green to yellow very fast. When the tomatoes are completely yellow, the bunch is ready to be cut. The yellow tomato is a very sturdy vine tomato. Tomatoes optimally maintain their taste and firmness when they are kept with a temperature between 12 and 16 ºC. Do not keep the tomatoes in the fridge, since they will lose their delicious flavors. Also avoid them near eggplant or cucumbers. Eat the tomatoes when they are at room temperature, this will give them their best taste!

  • Groceries

    • 1 jar Sugo con Basilico (yellow tomato sauce with basil) • 10 basil leaves • 2 tbsp Bonsecco Olive Oil • 8 slices of puff pastry • 8 teaspoon Dill Lemon Mustard • 2 sprigs fresh dill • 4 cherry tomatoes, halved

    additional: • Ravioli stamp round ss

  • Soup

    Heat the tomato sauce in a small saucepan. Fill the empty jar with hot water and pour it into the sauce and stir well. Heat untill a light simmering. Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the heat. Tear the basil leaves and add along with 1 tbsp Olive Oil Bonsecco to the soup. Puree the soup in a blender. Add 1 tbsp Olive Oil Bonsecco and stir. Divide the soup into bowls and garnish with a nice bit of fresh dill and a puff pastry snack.

    Puff pastry snack

    Preheat the oven to 225 ° C. Cut circles from the puff pastry with the ravioli cutter. Spread it with Dill Lemon Mustard and place on a baking sheet. Divide the dill and cherry tomatoes on the pastry circles. Place the circles in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

    Variation tip

    Drizzle some Balsamico di Modena IGP on the soup after serving.
